Summary
Unable to take the screams anymore, Kiyoomi stepped out from his hiding place in an act of self-sacrifice, demanding that the bandits stop. As the only omega in the party – and the only royal, he knew he was worth so much more than the rest.
An argument ensued, some declaring it would be risky to kidnap a prince, others stating he could be worth something as ransom. A sword is pressed to his throat and he lowered himself to his knees, silently praying they would spare him.
The last thing he saw before a dirty sack was thrust over his head was a head of sandy blond hair and brown lidded eyes that looked at him almost guiltily.

Summary
“They’re checking out the people coming in and out, Miya.”
“Sssh, just relax and... hold on tight.”
Atsumu gave a kick to his horse’s side that set her from a slow gait to a full blown gallop past the officials manning the gates. Atsumu ignored the yelling behind them as they bolted down the road and cackled with glee from getting away from them.
They only slowed once they were far enough from the castle grounds and Atsumu went down a well traveled side path that he often took on his way to the city.
“How’d ya like that? Bet it’s the first time you’ve ever ran from authority.”
“... You’re so reckless.”
“But ya didn’t hate it.”
Prince Atsumu is ten when the Sakusa family comes to their kingdom for the summer. He finds himself quite intrigued by their youngest son, Kiyoomi.

Summary
The beast in the woods first brought the famine, and then the plague that followed. The rice fields – once healthy and plentiful, burnt as though by magic on Kiyoomi’s final night in his own bed. The sacrifice and the saviour.
More a pawn than a hero. The virgin, is what the shrine keepers whispered in his father’s ear. Only an offering as pure as Kiyoomi could save them all.
That day his mother instructed the family's attendant to pick flowers on the edge of the village for Kiyoomi for his new betrothal. Upon receiving them, Kiyoomi cut the heads off the dianthus’ and left them by his mothers bed. A bad omen, the shrine keepers had insisted with quivering voices. Perhaps he is not the one. His parents sent him to the woods anyway.
