    The year is 2021, and the COVID-19 pandemic is in full swing. Everybody's stuck inside and the world governments are getting used to dealing with it. Everyone expects something big to come up.

    What they didn't expect, however, was for a livestream to another world to appear. Former human and tired college student Ollivine has to act as both a streamer and a diplomat for the Earth's eventual first contact with the Inpherno.

    Everyone's hungry for research, politics, and culture as they make contact with a brand new world. How's a girl to handle this?

    Cards flinches back, pausing, then shaking their head.

    This time, she understands what they’re trying to say.

    “So you think you can’t be forgiven to - forgive the pun - trying to win a game rigged against you with the cards you have at hand? One that you were forced into? One where you didn’t have a choice at all when you were just trying to go home?” Ah. She coughs. “Sorry. I came off a little… aggressive there.”

    Cards… Stares. Eyes wide. Mouth open.

    Mentally vulnerable.

    Winter has come, and Wemmbu doesn’t know how much longer he can take this. How is he to survive in a world that has already forgotten Egg and decided — presumably in a boardroom without his attendance, what a monster was? Vengeance can keep a man busy for a while, but even fury burns out in the cold.

    Perhaps it does not have to be this way.

    Wemmbu wasn’t the type to believe in prophecies. And yet, there lingers that fragile, infuriating wisp of hope that winter is not the end. The question is not whether it exists, rather: how much of the world he knows is he willing to unmake to keep it alive?

    Wemmbu has set everything alight for far less.

    OR

    Wemmbu wants to kill everyone in this server, and then himself.
    There is one thing holding him back.

    Maybe he could be nicer.

    A sort of continuation of Hold the door (I’ll still be waiting) but can be read as its own standalone.
