Summary
A year since the end of the Reaper War and life slowly returns to normal for everyone in the galaxy. Shepard's understanding of normal although, is different from most other people. Secretly, he misses the thrill of adventure, of battle, and a chance to save at least one more life.
As some people say, be careful what you wish for, and now Shepard is sent on a mission to rescue a little girl, whom Cerberus intends to use in their plan of restarting the end of the world. Kaidan was dancing, flowing with the hard music, with a sensuality Shepard had never seen before. He turned his head slightly to the side, confirming his identity without a doubt as Shepard took in his unmistakable profile, eyes closed, lips slightly parted.

Although they love each other deeply, each has been pretty apprehensive about how to make their relationship physical since neither one has any real experience in that area. Merc life suits him just fine, as does teaming up with C-Sec officer Garrus Vakarian every now and then. And then he meets Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko, poster boy for doing things by the books. For this prompt on the ME Kink Meme: Eventual MShep/Kaidan. Kaidan sees Shepard interacting with Cortez and is sad because he thinks his missed out. Pines a little. Unbeknownst to him though Shepard is just getting along with Cortez so well because Cortez called him on liking Kaidan and Shepard is relieved to just have someone to talk about it with.
Cue Cortez trying to get them together despite Kaidan's standoffishness. Kaidan angsting because Cortez keeps telling him how awesome Shepard is.
