LAPD SWAT Team Leader Eddie Diaz is ordered to take up a hobby which will reduce some of his stress and anger because his Commander, Athena Grant, knows he hasn't processed the loss of his ex-wife and it’s clearly affecting his job. At Carla's suggestion, he begrudgingly takes up drawing classes. The model intrigues him, his torso covered in Marks and clearly with a lot of stories to tell, but Eddie’s still grappling with the fallout from his one, scarred, Mark. He’s not ready for the implications of another Mark, even if the mysterious model might be responsible for making him smile and laugh for the first time in almost a year.

“Which do you think makes you feel most loved?”
Eddie thought for a long moment. Too long, maybe. Then he shrugged, “Honestly, Buck? I have no idea.”
Buck’s brows pinched up. “What do you mean? When have you felt the most loved?”
“Don’t make a big thing of this, Buck. Promise?”
Buck made a show of crossing his heart, brows still raised curiously.
“I’m not sure I’ve ever… really felt loved in a relationship? I’m not convinced that I know what makes me feel loved…”
OR -
After finding out that Eddie doesn't know what his love language is, Buck sets about finding out for him. He begins a five week experiment, one for each love language, to figure out which will make Eddie feel the most loved.

Christopher peered at him, his eyes bigger through his lenses. “Why?”
Buck nearly choked. “Why? Why… what? I mean, I’m bisexual, if that’s what you’re—”
“Oh, no.” Christopher shook his head, “I just meant, if you’re dating men, why aren’t you dating Dad?” Which simply did not help Buck’s choking problem.
Buck really, truly had never pictured Eddie’s son asking him these questions, specifically why he wasn’t dating Eddie.
“Uh— your Dad isn’t— we’re not—”
“Oh.” A pause.
“I don’t want you to date Dad.”
