Chances are, if someone spends more than a couple minutes rooting around on Tumblr or Twitter, Reddit or Buzzfeed they’ll see it. Those tired comments about the FBI agent monitoring my computer. Everyone laughed in 2008, but the smiles faded slowly, now it barely raises an eyebrow. After all, it’s an utterly ridiculous notion that for each person using the internet around the country, there’s an FBI agent assigned to them. The math is mind-boggling, everyone would be an agent tailing other agents in a never-ending loop of not-so-subtle sleuth.
The reality is that of course there aren’t individually assigned agents for every person in the country.
The reality is that each agent deals with around two hundred of the worst offenders.
And Patrick will not lay off the illegal downloading.

Fuck, this isn’t good. They’re in public, in a dressing room in a shitty sports store; sure, there aren’t many other customers and sure, the terrible music might hide any noises. Still, it’s a stupid risk. Old Patrick never would’ve let this happen.
But Patrick decides his old self was an asshole, and also, his old self wasn’t a sex-deprived dad with a sex toy inside and a willing Pete in front of him. Pete is half-naked (still wearing his shirt as well, as if that was somehow the magic apology that made all of this decent), all tan tattooed skin and bright, wanting eyes under black lashes, the epitome of bad decisions and well, Patrick is a few years too late to be able to resist.
