Summary
On their way back to Erid, Rocky and Grace discover a mysterious box. Upon opening it, the two discover some strange changes. Well, perhaps way more than strange.
Rocky finds a new marking on his arm similar to Grace's scar, and Grace finds markings similar to Rocky's on his arms and legs.
Rocky begins to dream and can easily wake from sleep, and Grace can stay up for much longer than a normal human should.
Grace starts seeing sound when it's too dark to properly see, and Rocky starts seeing pops of colour in his sound vision.
Neither can understand what's happening to them and how they're seemingly linked together, but they know there's nothing in the world that could tear them apart.
(TLDR: This fic will include almost everyone's favourite things! Rocky learns about how Grace got on the Hail Mary (Including Rocky witnessing the memory of Grace being sent on the Hail Mary)! Grace can survive in Rocky's atmosphere! Grace will live as long as Rocky! Rocky and Adrian reuinite and Adrian meets Grace! After four years of space travel, Grace and Rocky are finally approaching Erid. Grace has been working hard to learn Eridian, but two days out, disaster strikes - his keyboard is broken and Rocky is hurt.
Luckily, Grace can speak some very basic Eridian with his single set of vocal cords. Unfortunately, he sounds like a newly hatched baby Eridian when he does.

Mica handled a lot of unpredictable situations in their job as an emergency hatchling guardian. It came with the territory – there were all kinds of reasons a pebble too young to be alone might need watching by someone who wasn’t a cluster member. But Mica had never had a situation like the call they received from the space science cluster.
“Engineer Rocky is on that ship, apparently injured, and he’s brought back some kind of alien with him. It’s very young, only IIVI years old, it doesn’t have any of its own kind, but it learned some Eridian from Engineer Rocky. Can you come and watch it while Engineer Rocky recovers and we work out what it needs?”
