Summary
Blade’s hands twitch. The mark on Dan Heng’s bottom lip catches at the light, still wet and slow-seeping red. Sometime during his ministrations he’d caught it between his teeth and split it open again. Unthinking, Blade reaches out and up and runs the pad of his thumb across it.
Dan Heng stills. For a moment, he becomes an animal of prey, soft breath and shattered antlers and limbs locked for flight, in a way that no sword at his neck has ever made him.
Blade says, slowly, “You’re hurt.”

Summary
Zuko is a retired jaeger pilot who trains newer pilots to fight the endless waves of kaiju that come through the Breach. When the biggest kaiju on record appears unexpectedly in Fire Nation waters, disaster strikes, forcing Zuko to step back into the conn pod despite past trauma. His partner? Sokka, another retired ace, who carries a serious axe to grind and no shortage of baggage. With the kaiju rapidly approaching, and the time to landfall ticking down, they have a lot to work through before they're ready to save anyone.
