Kaidan gazed at her where she sat. The firelight cast her in terrifying relief, her face bewitching and severe, as if she had stepped from a dream into the world of the waking.
“I think you’re just callous,” he replied, and did not miss the warning flicker of her mouth when he did. It was dangerous, he thought, the way she made him want to test it.
“Do not delude yourself, swordsman.” Her voice was low, inching so close to a growl that Kaidan felt it curl in his belly. “You know nothing about me.”

Zenos’s blackened eyes stare straight at his neck and the junction of his shoulder, where the tip of his scythe left a clean cut. He doesn’t blink, as if the expanse of skin entrances him. His panting grows louder and heavier with every ilm that he leans closer. The sound of his breath already stokes a strange heat in Yves’s gut, but the warmth of the air on his neck has him squirming.
Later, he’ll call it fear. Why else would his heart beat so loudly? Why else would he tremble in Zenos’s clawed grasp, so still, waiting for just one more moment?
Zenos acquires a taste for the Warrior of Light's aether in more ways than one.

When she flirts with him—and Cullen has noticed that sometimes she flirts with him—it is as though he has let him overhear a faint protestation from within the overgrown ruin of whoever she used to be. He is glad, and he doesn’t take her overtures as anything more. He is too old for that young woman, whoever she is or was.

An attempt to see one version of the Cullen/Trevelyan romance from his perspective, hewing fairly closely to canon, with a few liberties taken here and there. This Cullen wants very much to protect the Inquisitor, often at his own expense. It will not be sexy for a long while, but we'll get there eventually.
