Aemond considers him for a moment longer, gaze flicking up and down with the pleased glint of a smug cat. Then he turns toward their host. “Lord Borros, be my witness: by the ancient customs of our House, by the ancient rite to wed fire and blood, I declare a marriage hunt on Lucerys Velaryon.”
The entire hall falls silent.
Oh no. Luke gapes; his uncle cannot mean this seriously—

When he pulled away a string of saliva held on to the glass and fell away gently enough that Aemond couldn’t tell if it fell toward Luke or the glass.
When Luke offered him a section of the glass that was free of him, Aemond strained to reach the spot where his lips had touched, feeling and thriving in the small speck of Luke that he could consume.
