“Why are we here, Bakugou?”
“He… touched her,” Katsuki ground out, jaw clenched and eyes shut tight.
“Mineta?”
“Yes, that fucking – yes, Mineta. He touched her. Momo, she—” Katsuki swallowed, Adam’s apple bobbing. “She was crying. She’d been, um – she was in the fuckin’ shower, and Mineta – she slipped, and –”
“So you fought him.”
“Hell yes, I fought him!” Bakugou snapped, eyes blazing.
“Why is this upsetting you so much, Bakugou?” the teacher finally asked, his head tilting slightly. Katsuki’s eyes flew open, and there was something there — something raw, and small, and heartbroken – before the shutters behind his eyes fell with a slam, and his lips curled back into a snarl.
“None of your fucking business!”

Bakugo’s heart skipped a beat. The thought of facing Kariage, of showing him just how far he had fallen, was daunting. But deep down, he knew he needed this. He needed someone to pull him out of the darkness he had been drowning in.

He took a bite of the apple, the sweetness almost too much to bear. He chewed slowly, trying to ignore the guilt that welled up with each bite. He finished half before he couldn’t take any more, tossing the rest into the trash. The water helped to calm his stomach, but it did nothing to ease the turmoil in his mind.
