“Is it going to h-hurt?” Jimin asks, voice breaking when he verbalizes his greatest worry. A shaky breath pulls from his lungs, impossibly loud in the quiet of night.
“M… M-M… Mating.” Jungkook grunts, common tongue clumsy and awkward coming from his mouth. It sounds unpracticed, discordant. He motions to the mat and blankets on the ground, striated muscles flexing with every move his capable body produces. Another step closer. “Mating. O-Okay?”

“I’m going to break up with him,” Jimin hiccuped between sobs.
“Mmhm.” Jungkook poured him a shot.
“I’m serious this time.” Jimin wiped snot away with his sleeve. “I can’t take this anymore.”
“Unh.” Taehyung made a ssam for him and put it on his plate.
Jimin cried in his hands, incomprehensible. “I’m going to do it,” He blubbered, “It’s over—it’s so fucking over, I’m—after everything,” A hiccup, “—you know?” He downed a shot.
“Absolutely.” Seokjin dutifully fried pork belly on the grill.
Everyone kept eating, stoned-faced, when Jimin broke out into a terrible cry.
“Chogiyo!” Jungkook raised his arm. “Two more bottles of soju, please.”

“talk to me, baby. i don’t know what’s going on. what did i do? are you hurt?” yoongi asks, the bitterness of distress strong in his scent. his voice sounds broken and scared, jungkook overtaken with guilt and sadness.
“i want it.” jungkook hiccups after a few minutes of silence.
“want what? you can have anything you want. i’ll get it for you, just tell me what it is.”
“p-pups.” jungkook sobs. tears pour from his eyes like waves in the ocean, drenching him in the wetness of his despair. yoongi’s hands fly up and wipe it all away, uncaring of how quickly they form again.
“alpha will do it.” yoongi says with all the determination in the world. “alpha will give you a pup.”
after the high of the impromptu mating jungkook forced upon them and their initial heat and rut cycles end, they find it difficult to adjust to their new lives together—especially yoongi. from settling his rogue instincts to the feral urges that grow inside of him, the alpha requires months and months to adjust to his new life. lucky for them, jungkook is patient, giving, and wild in his own way.
