Summary
The Silverwood had proven to be quite difficult to separate himself from, and without it, Qifrey feels incomplete in some ways. With its branches now safely resting outside upon a span of land visible from the atelier’s windows, Qifrey finds that incomplete feeling can be filled with other things: being a dutiful teacher, a helpful witch, and a loving partner.
But it is that last thing that he finds difficult. Not because he does not love Olruggio, no — he loves him far more than words can attest — but rather that the feeling of love and safety he’s given still causes lingering discomfort due to the fear the tree had placed in him. But day by day, he becomes more accustomed to it.

There have been plenty of times where Olruggio’s been reminded, quite harshly, just who is in charge—and not only in matters of the household and the children. He could have Qifrey boxed in with his arms, he could have Qifrey bound and restrained, he could have Qifrey spread across his lap and begging but they both know the reality: that in everything they do, Qifrey rules with a dominating, iron fist.

Summary
Qifrey knows that mixing pleasure and pain is dangerous, but he also knows that he cannot have the former without the latter. He loves Olly too much to drag him into a messy love life on top of everything else.
Easthies feels inexplicably attracted to Qifrey.
They both know it's not love but why shouldn't they use each other for pleasure until they get tired of it?
Spoilers up to chapter 95.
Set between Qifrey's fourth and fifth test. To me, this feels like their (broke?) student days, maybe their early twenties. In my headcanon Easthies is slightly older. Qifrey does not yet wear glasses. I do not write slow burn, I burn the candle on both ends and I aim for maximum emotional damage. To me Orufrey is endgame and Easfrey is delicious, delicious toxic yaoi. I mean look at that dirty look at the very beginning of chapter 50.
