Summary
Harua closed his eyes, hot tears streaming down his cheeks, completely frozen, feeling the despair stuck in his throat. He thought of Nagano, of his family, of the college that had always been his dream and that he would now never finish. He thought he would die there, in that dirty alley, transformed into just another disappearance statistic in the newspapers he so feared.
"Please..." he sobbed, his voice completely failing. "Please, no..."
The beast stopped inches from him, and the heat emanating from its body was suffocating, like an open oven. As he hyperventilated, he felt a warm, moist snout touch his neck, sniffing his skin, rising up his jaw to his hairline. The creature let out a sound that seemed almost... a moan of satisfaction. A deep purr that vibrated against his bones and deepened the terror that coursed through his soul.
