"IT WAS THE ONLY CARD I COULD'VE PLAYED," Korra defended, "AND YOU THINK I'D WANT TO END UP DRAWING LIKE FIFTEEN MORE CARDS AFTER AANG PLAYED THAT RED SKIP?"
"Hold on, stop." Tenzin held out his hands, stopping the ensuing fight. "Plus Four? Skip? Aang??? What are you even talking about?"
Or:
Korra and Asami introduce Raava and Vaatu to their equivalent of Uno, and then Korra gets the idea to bring Aang and Wan over to play it. It goes about as well as expected.

It's been several years since Kuvira was defeated and for Korra and Asami life has more or less settled to be about as calm as can be expected for the Avatar and her partner. But, on the way back from a routine mission they witness a disaster and have their lives flipped upside-down by one little girl found in the wreckage.

Johnny cleared his throat, cheeks warm.
“Didn’t realize that was an option.” Johnny said evenly, his words considered like flour leveled off in a measuring cup, dumped into whatever this mess of butter, sugar, and want this was. He hoped he was hiding his sudden desire well.
He watched as Gyro sat back on his elbows, forcing a relaxed posture, not wanting to scare him off, clearly. His eyes were downcast as he tried to measure his own words, “Mm? What is an option, compagno?”
“Foolin’ round with you. Never really crossed my mind.” Johnny said honestly. He’d never even imagined himself with another guy, let alone his mentor… his friend… until a few minutes ago. And yet, despite how others might feel about it in the race, in town, in America—he didn’t really give a damn.
He was goddamn wanted.

Noelle and Kris have known each other forever; they grew up together, Kris pulling pranks that made Noelle shriek only to get chased around by Dess with a wiffle bat in retaliation, playing video games together until Kris inevitably decided to get up and go play the Holiday family's piano...
Then Dess went missing. Kris went quiet. Asriel left for college. Distance grew between friends.
Dess came back. Kris started to smile again. Noelle and Kris reconnected, and together, they survived high school.
College is going to be a new challenge all its own, but at least they're in it together, right?
...Then Noelle meets her new roommate, Susie, and things get a little more complicated.
