Summary
There are two kids kissing each other dumb in the street.
It (capital i) had to use words to expose your shameful secrets. The Deadlights do not. Within them, everything is exposed for you to see, to know, that your most shameful fears will become true.
The two kids from before are yelling at each other. Richie feels his gaze, his mind lured to them.
The taller one is shrieking because the other threw water from the dirty fountain nearby at him. Richie recognizes a very old history in their play.
His eyes itch with tears again.
It’s been less than twenty four hours since I remembered why the fuck I’ve spent a whole life being miserable and now one of the seven reasons is gone forever and the other is on its way, too, Richie thinks deliriously. I wasn’t good before Derry 2.0 and there is no way I’ll ever be good again.

Summary
People look at Richie different now, talk to him different. Care about him too much, at times, make him sick with how much they care about him. In a good way. It’s scary as fuck, being seen. But good. It’s good.
It’s Christmas now, and it’s so good. It reminds Richie of last year, reminds him of his darkest moments, yes, but it also reminds him of everything that’s changed since then. How far he’s come. So that’s good, too.

This is where Eddie started taking off his shoe to throw at his head. Richie was too fast for him, laughing the whole way as he ran out the door and just missed the hit.

“Yeah! That Bev. And Ben Hanscom, we can try him too. I don’t know the name of his firm, but it would be easy to google. Recently they built that BBC tower…” Eddie freezes, eyes widening as he stares directly at Dr. Jackson.
”Holy shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?” He sends her a defeated expression. “You don’t believe me at all. You think I made up some weird parasocial relationship with a bunch of random celebrities.”
She clears her throat. “You don’t sound crazy, Eddie. I don’t use that word. I often see people who struggle, and these friendships sound like they’re very real to you.”
”They sound real to me,” he parrots. “What a nice way to say they’re all in my head.”

Eddie comes home from Derry a different man, ready to make a clean break from his old life. He’s always been direct, so he tells Myra about recent events, so that she can understand why things have to change. Myra, however, isn’t about to let him go so easily. Now facing a psychiatric commitment, how can Eddie prove his competency, when everything that has happened to him recently is literally straight out of a horror novel?
