Summary
Seasons 7/8 canonverse AU, with the backstory drawing heavily on the books.
After bringing the Gift to House Frey, Arya rides south to kill the queen. On the road she meets the Kingslayer riding north in stolen black armor and with one fewer hands than he’d had when last she’d seen him four years previously. She tells him that she’s off to kill the Queen; he tells her he rides north to fight an army of the dead alongside her brother Jon.
They agree to ride north together, and what happens next is a story of two broken people finding themselves and each other. Prophecies are fulfilled, treaties are brokered, and sex is had.

“How did you recognize me?” she demanded. “And why are you out here alone?”“I could ask you the same things,” said Jaime, rummaging in his saddlebag. He came up with a few strips of dried meat, and he tossed one to Arya.
Arya shrugged. “That’s easy: you still look like a Lannister, even if you aren’t dressed like one. I’m out here alone because that’s how I’ve survived, and besides: who would help me kill the queen?”
“Me, on the right day,” said Jaime in an offhand way.

"Hey." Her warm alto voice whispered out of the shadows as she secured the door behind her.
"Hey, Natasha." He replied, turning back towards the railing and leaning on it with his knuckles.

Bucky gave a slow, impassive blink. "Huh."
A frown creased her lovely brow at that. "What?"
"Apparently, the Winter Soldier program wasn't the only one using memory wipes."
Natasha took an involuntary step back. "What do you mean?"
"Yeah… where are you going with this, Buck?" Steve had taken a few steps into the room again, arms folded across his broad chest.
Bucky’s eyes flicked back and forth between them. "I came to the Red Room… while you were there. HYDRA agents came to... You… you don't remember?"
Natasha shook her head, scattering her red tresses around her shoulders as she looked to Steve. "No… No, I don't remember anything like that. I didn't learn about HYDRA until I was out of the KGB." She turned a freshly harrowed gaze back on Bucky. "I'm… the first time I ever encountered you was when I was escorting the scientist you shot. They… they didn't use memory wipes on us." She blinked twice to stop herself, but one last word sneaked out under her guard. "Right?"
