"Huge," Mel says with a wide smile. "What about you?"
"Me, not really," Frank admits. "I watched a few seasons here and there," —one season, if he's honest— "and I auditioned just for fun," —he hadn't even known that Theo had sent in that stupid video— "and now here I am."
"Here you are," Mel echoes and Frank finds himself a little lost in the melody of her voice. It's lower than maybe he would expect, but the flow of it is an easy rhythm, a pleasing melody.
Entrancing.
"Here we are." Finds it necessary to add on, and the smile that blooms on Mel's face tells him he's said the right thing.
Fuck.

This took me a long time to finish because I read it aloud with one of my friends, but the experience was so wonderful and rewarding I do not regret it.
I have never before seen a single episode of Survivor, so I was surprised to find myself loving this as much as I did. I cried so often at so many of the 'i love you' and 'to the end' scenes. The genuine love and care between Frank and Mel in this made me so emotional. Maybe it's because I was falling in love with someone myself this year for the first time in a long time, or maybe it's just because ironcharlie is an incredible talent that knows exactly how to write emotional scenes. Or a combination of both. Who can know for sure?
All I know is that this piece moved me in a way that left me feeling irrevocably changed and I'll always be grateful for that.
This is another one of those stories that has seen me through to a different place in my life. Has helped me and shaped me. Thank you for writing this. Reading it has been an absolute pleasure.

One of my all time favourite stories on here. I re-read it at least a few times a year. I love how it tells such a complete and heart wrenching story of forbidden love first from the point of view of the people who love them and then from the lovers themselves. It adds to much to the story. This is also one of only a handful of stories I've ever created a spotify playlist for.

This is the first fanfiction I've bookmarked for The Apothecary Diaries and honestly, this is another one of the stories that have changed me as a person. Every now and then I read work by a writer who I fall in love with just a little bit as I read their work and this is one of them.
I read this entire almost 100k story in a single night whilst VIBRATING in my skin. This felt like actually reading the ending of the literal story. As if Natsu Hyuuga herself had come down from Heaven and SMACKED me right in the face with this. The story was so good. I don't even know how to begin to explain how this made me feel.
I cried for the ENTIRE LAST CHAPTER. My face is covered in snot while I write this. I haven't even taken off my makeup because I physically could not leave my computer until I finished this entire story.
Genuinely one of my favourite things I've ever read.
