in laying down a foundation, some things get inherently covered up, dirt pressed underneath stone. if suga’s decision to leave is one of them, then that’s that. they don’t have to talk about it. when something big looms in the distance, it is easy for daichi to redirect his attention to something else and pretend it is not coming towards him. but eventually, it taps his shoulder.

“do you ever feel caged in?”daichi pauses. not really, is his first thought. the world is vast, it would take him a hundred or so years to walk the whole earth. he doesn’t feel suffocation at letting branches grow from the main trunk, reaching out farther away from home. for daichi, it’s his way of flying.
flying. oh. daichi thinks he understands now. “sometimes.” it’s not entirely a lie, sometimes he feels as though he is stuck in between a rocky shore of a beach, wedged in between heavy boulders with only gaps of light to see through. daichi pours most of the sauce into the pan, letting it reduce down and soak into the meat.
in other words; five times daichi cooks for suga and one time suga cooks for daichi.

When the Emperor commands that the blacksmith, Zhongli, craft him the finest weapon in all the land, Zhongli forges Ajax, a young man possessing mastery over all weapons. However, when the Emperor takes possession of Ajax, he names him Tartaglia, treating him as an unfeeling blade fit only for war.
As Zhongli's unease towards the treatment of his creation increases, so does the Emperor's ambition, leading the nation—and Ajax—into an ever greater risk of peril.
