“To say you've experienced a trauma is an understatement. You need to process what you’ve endured over the past two months.” Post Marionette story, in which Olivia’s trauma from her time Over There is actually addressed. P/O.

"She was replaced instead. She was replaced by a version of herself that was less…broken.
Less intense, maybe.
And there lies the problem. Olivia cannot compete with that. Peter may have come back when she asked him to, the woman he then spent the next eight weeks with was happier, quicker with a smile.
This thought swirls in her head and squeezes her heart every time she inadvertently shows him just how damaged she's become, the way she did today in that elevator. It makes it impossible for her to accept any kind of comfort from him, too afraid of the pity she will find in his eyes, because it would confirm what she suspects, what she already knows: that she is, indeed, the lesser version. The one that was left in the dark.
She's still in there, now; frozen to the bone."

In the aftermath of Bell taking over her body, Olivia struggles to reconnect with herself. Peter helps.

"She may not be an empty vessel either, she sure isn’t just herself anymore, hasn’t been for a long time. John, Nick, that other her, Bell…they have all left their mark on her, no matter how short the invasion, little bits of themselves crowding her mind, crawling under her skin. Changing her DNA, too.
That’s something else she’s been thinking about. DNA. Cells. The kinds that make up every living thing—her included.
Whenever she showers and she rubs at her skin, she pictures those epithelial cells coming off and going down the drain with the suds, reminding herself of the endless cycle of dying cells and cells reborn; that eventually, there won’t be any cell left that Bell would have touched.
No wonder her own consciousness nearly fled at this latest assault.
It is back and in full control, has been for a few days, as if never interrupted, nor forced to retreat in the deepest parts of herself. And yet, there is a disconnect.
A numbness of sorts, a queasy confusion. She looks at her hands, and she wonders what they were used for while she hid."

Summary
Despite her spark and the fact that she can throw kick-ass fireballs, Stiles knows that the second the pack finds out she's hurt, they'll descend on her like a pack of wolves (yes, she's very happy with that joke). So rather than deal with a whole bunch of worry wolves, Stiles is content to lie through her teeth somewhat successfully, and go home to lick her wounds.
Derek, of course, does not agree with this sentiment.
Feelings ensue.
