‘What’ll you do if he doesn’t?’ he asks.

Edward doesn’t need to ask doesn’t what. ‘Doesn’t like me? Tough luck, I guess. I don’t mind just—‘

‘If he doesn’t answer,’ Ling says.

A collection of stories the morals of which all amount to: if something can go wrong, it will. Also, if something can go right, it also will.

Alternatively, that one college AU where everyone fucks all the shit up.

Kei swallows. ‘Right. Of course. You must hate Formula One, being a scientist.’

‘The world’s sexiest scientist,’ Kuroo corrects gravely.

Kei’s pretty sure he’s going to win the terrible, no-good, very bad Monaco GP sweepstakes, which is saying something when you’re teammates with Charles Leclerc.

    Summary

The Japanese trace the character for man onto their palms and bring it to their lips to alleviate anxiety. The saying behind it—人を飲む, hito wo nomu—translates literally to drink or swallow people but, idiomatically, it means to dominate over others. How strange that the idea of eating a person, a violation of the highest order, can soothe a nervous mind. How telling it is, that every human action and sensibility returns to eating and devouring, to hunger and gluttony.

Wherein Quanxi faces the aftermath, an old friend, and a feast.
