Summary
Oh, he’ll spend the night in his own room, lying between cold sheets. Summary
If Bertha could bottle it, she would: the heart-pounding exhileration of standing on the ice bowing to raucous applause; how George pulls her into his arms like they're two magnets; the smell of him, slightly sweaty but oh-so-familiar; and the feeling of his heart against her chest, beating in time with hers, until the adrenaline fades and they come slowly unstuck. They're on the top of their game, and definitely on the top of the World standings, and no one, the fans say, is doing ice dance chemistry like them.
It helps that Bertha is irrevocably, hopelessly, immutably in love with George.
It hurts that Bertha is irrevocably, hopelessly, immutably in love with George.

The gunman strikes again. It brings both hurt and healing.
