“What’s the matter? Are you hungry or something?”
Once again, the dog just barked and continued to stare at him. He sighed, unsure of what to do. He was deep in thought when he heard someone entering the station. He turned and saw Baekjin walking towards him, stopping short once he noticed the dog. He raised a questioning brow, “Is that yours?”
“No, he just jumped on me while I was waiting for you. I have no idea where he came from…”
Baekjin hummed, “It looks like he’s taken a liking to you.”
They both looked down at the dog to see that it was still staring at Baku, its tail wagging excitedly. Baku couldn’t help but smile. The dog was really cute.
“Maybe you should take it with you. Haven’t you always wanted a dog?”

“This is for you, sweetie.” She carefully placed the box on his lap before pinching his cheek and giving his forehead a small kiss.
“What is it?”
“You tell me. It’s addressed to you, but it doesn’t say who it’s from. It was just sitting on the porch when I got back from work.”
Gotak eyed the box, a confused look on his face. It didn’t look like anything special, just a plain brown box with his name written on it. Gotak gently opened it, letting out a small gasp once he saw what was inside. Embarrassingly, he could feel his eyes start to water.

They had instinctively moved closer together, staring at each other for what felt like minutes, surrounded by silence.
Suho’s eyes flickered to the smaller boy’s lips, a hand lifting his chin, thumb carefully tracing the outlines of his cupid's bow.
Sieun’s breath hitched.
“Your lips are turning blue, maybe we should get out of the water.”
Sieun fought the urge to automatically pull away from Suho’s soft touch, but he managed to lean into it, eyelids fluttering shut as he parted his lips.
“Sieun-ah,” his breath came out a little ragged, close enough for Sieun to feel it against his cheek.Sieun doesn’t know how to swim, so Suho decides to give him lessons. As they get closer, the feelings Sieun had tried to ignore surface.

suho and sieun have had a ritual since they were dirt-gathering, bug-collecting, toothless little kids.
it’s a ritual that began in a damp, rocky hollow—with suho, sprawled on his bum, clutching at his knee and pouting up at a blank-faced sieun, as he begged, “sieun-ah, kiss.”
when met with the typical silence, suho had angled his chubby cheek nonetheless, determined and forthcoming. “kiss.”
it’s their little ritual that’s stayed well into adulthood, a precious thing that’s theirs, and theirs alone.
