Kris threw their phone onto the floor forcefully. Even in the dark, you could see the large crack it had made on the screen.
The loud music and voices outside had drowned out the noise it made when it hit the ground. But you heard it.
Kris stared at it for a moment, before rolling onto their stomach again and slamming their pillow over their head. They shook from how hard they were gripping it. Their knuckles paled.
You thought you heard them scream into their mattress.

“I love you, Frisk.” She whispered back. I dug my fingers into her nightgown.“I love you too, mama.” I responded, half asleep by now.
I never knew what having a normal family was like. This probably still wasn’t a normal family, since it was just us living by ourselves. But it was as close as I’d ever been to having one.

So this was nothing new for them.
