Summary
Violet ‘Vi’ Lanes is lead guitarist and vocalist for the world famous Vault Breaker, a metalcore band she formed in her teen years after her father, world famous guitarist Vander Lanes disowned her. After a particularly nasty divorce, she moved to New York City to get away from it all, signing to a new label, Riot Records, the first chance she got.
Caitlyn Kiramman is the lead vocalist for an up and coming rock band, 90 Caliber Net. Her mother, world renowned philanthropist Cassandra Kiramman, refused to support her dreams, and cut her off from the Kiramman fortune until Caitlyn could “come to her senses.” After a rough breakup with popstar Seraphine, all Caitlyn wanted to do was get out. When Riot Records offered the band more than they could dream of, she snapped up the opportunity, moving to New York City.
Six months settling into their new lives, fate pushes them together in a chance meeting. Sparks fly and tension builds as both rock stars find themselves in each other.

“I know it's probably nothing fancy. Nothin’ that I could offer her would be. But, she’s given me the same peace this hunk of rock did when I was growing up.” Vi sniffled, setting the box on the headstone as if allowing Cassandra to admire it. She hoped she did. “I wish we had met sooner. Caitlyn and I, you and I. I wish I got to know you better. Really earned Caitlyn’s hand.”
The wind blew again, shifting the ring box closer to her. She hesitated but picked it up with a smile, snapping it shut and tucking it back into the pocket of her leather jacket.
“I’ll take that as a yes, Cass.” She teased, a petal falling from the bouquet she had brought and landing on the back of her hand. Tears welled in her eyes. She should have proposed ages ago, had gotten Tobias’ blessing almost six months ago. But working up the nerve to come here and ask took more courage than asking her living parent.

Once she was settled, she wordlessly took the mug of tea Caitlyn had made (like two hours ago, gross Violet) and popped the pills into her mouth. She downed the whole mug of tea, Caitlyn shuddering at the concept of drinking cold tea like that. “There, I took ‘em.”
