" Blade looked down at his feet, not even bothering to widen his eyes in surprise, as his dropped sword had already done that for him.
Before his feet, sat a white cat (lion?) that incessantly cried at him whilst pawing at his shoelaces, seemingly interested in the thing as it flops over on its back and continued to twirl the piece of string around like the most interesting thing in the world. When it looked at him again, gilded eyes stared back at his blood-red ones, a glint of amusement passing through the way it slowly blinked at the man if he were to guess before it goes back to his shoelace again.
The sword stays dropped at the floor, unmoving.

Miles says something to a large man in a green jacket standing next to him, mouth moving mute from across the crowd, scowl stern as always. And then, his grey eyes flick to the side, and catch.
Surprise looks strange on his friend’s new face. His eyebrows fly up, one quirked higher than the other, eyes open wide, lips clamped shut in a tight frown. His entire posture somehow gets stiffer, more uptight and he swivels a little, to get a clearer look. Recognition and confusion and a strange fear pass over his expression, and his mouth opens slightly as if to say something.
Phoenix feels his lips twitch into an odd smile as lightning prickles down his spine.

Alhaitham has apparently decided to go about seducing Kaveh in the stupidest manner possible. And yet, that absurdity pales in comparison to Kaveh’s own stupidity—because somehow, against all reason, his roommate’s idiotic attempts to seduce him are working.
Kaveh turns to glare at Alhaitham, and Alhaitham stares back at him levelly—which only makes indignation boil hotter in Kaveh’s gut, even as his eyes drift to Alhaitham’s infuriating lips and start replaying that memory from this morning.
He knows what he saw. He’d watched as Alhaitham rounded his lips, took that banana far into his throat, and slowly dragged his mouth up the length, flicking his tongue at the tip. He’d seen Alhaitham start to repeat the motion, pausing with his eyes locked onto Kaveh’s—and then, with a half-lidded stare, he’d casually taken a bite and walked out of the room, brushing against Kaveh as he left.
Kaveh had been completely awake. And whatever the fuck Alhaitham was doing, it had been completely intentional.
