"Will" tucks his twitching hand under his sleeve. This movement has nothing to do with nervousness. It's far more unsettling, like a presence stirring beneath his skin, as if something... or someone is trying to reach out from inside him.
or. Will is possessed and Vecna is trying his very best to distance and sabotage his relationship with Mike. It doesn't help that Mike is an oblivious idiot.

Summary
Mike and Will are struggling with unresolved feelings while Hawkins suffers, and Vecna is still alive, healing and stalking. The Party must come together to deal with their feelings and survive hell on earth, once and for all. Until one last battle.
This work is an alternate vision of what Stranger Things - Season 5 could have been (it's mostly canon compliant up to the end of Season 4; there's no 18-month timeskip tho). This is an alternate story with some Fantasy in between (and with lots of MiWi too cuz they are too adorable; with that in mind, there will be some very cute moments and surprises along the way). Nothing too far removed from the reality of Stranger Things, I guess... or at least, the Hawkins part. A few nice moments from S5 were saved and pretty much all the Byler gates are here. When we arrive into the Fantasy aspect of the story, I'm going to let loose and mix all sorts of cool concepts from different stories and universes. Will and Mike, of course, will remain at the center of this new reality.
And of course, this isn't just about the way it ended and the plot holes.

Summary
Will pressed his face to the glass, wishing that he were closer. The man’s cheeks were pale, having thick eyebrows and lips. His nose was long, though it didn’t disrupt the harmony of the man’s features. His eyes were the most captivating part of his face: wide and brown, reflecting the moonlight.
In other words, he was beautiful.
Will found himself blushing, feeling foolish for swooning over the knight, who clearly was just doing his job. He couldn’t help but itch for his parchment and ink, to see the man up close, take in those eyes when they weren’t forced to remain a disciplined neutral.
Or: William Byers is a prince under King Henry's rule, known for being one of the most exceptional clerics of the entire lands. In comparison, his life remains pretty lackluster, and Will is convinced that nothing more will ever come of it.
That is, until a certain Sir Michael Wheeler is elected as Will's personal knight.
