Summary
Ciel rolls away from the butler until he’s facing the wall, back to the man.
“With that thing always in tow, you can hardly get angry anymore when someone calls you a child.”
“I am not a child,” Ciel says, pressing his cheek into the soft fur of the rabbit’s head. “...I just have a fondness for this product. It’s one of our best selling products for a reason.”
“Best selling among children,” Sebastian corrects. Ciel can hear him shifting, and then the gentle presence of him pressing in closer behind him, creeping like a shadow along the mattress. He’s not warm per se, but he’s not cold either. It’s comforting in its familiarity as much as it is comforting in its inhumanity. Too many warm, dreadfully human hands had marred his skin.
Ciel says nothing, clutching the plushie closer to his chest.

Sebastian looks up at him through his lashes, then removes his hands and reaches for the socks. Ciel hops up onto the bed and waits, frowning thoughtfully. “Why am I so interesting? Explain yourself.”
When the butler looks back at him, there’s an amused look there that makes Ciel squirm. “My master is interesting to me at all times, even in his sleep,” Is all he says, and the boy grunts irritably.
“You’re insufferable, did you know that?”
Sebastian nods dutifully and takes one of Ciel’s feet in his hands. “Of course, master.”
