Toya knows about devotion — or maybe he once did, before the very thought of life itself became unbearable. Wake, practice, sleep. Rinse and repeat. Oh, how he'd try to run — and how laughable it is he's now running around with a boy who's doing the same for street music, a boy who doesn't know how much of a coward he is.
But this same boy is now bandaging his hands so gently, more worried about his injuries than he is. How can he find it in himself to turn away? It's selfish, despicable, but — he wants to stay by his side, just a little bit longer.

Every once in a while, he’s reminded anew of how much it almost feels wrong for someone like him to call himself Toya's partner. No matter how much he pushes himself, forces himself to go just a bit further, Toya is still out of reach, belonging to a world completely different from his own.

A few months after the formation of BAD DOGS, Akito picks Toya up from school.
