He didn’t even let her finish.
Ofcourse it's okay. Anything is okay as long as it's her. She could sink her fingers through the gaping wound and rip his heart out and it still would be okay.
It is hers for the taking anyway.

Ace's pupils look like embers. For someone whose body temperature is always concerningly high, he sure doesn’t act like it — standing so close you’d think he was trying to steal your body’s warmth. Instead, it’s the reverse: you can feel the heat waves rolling off of him.
Paradoxically, it makes you shiver.
"You cold?" he asks. His concerned voice, husky like the side of a matchbox, makes your heart combust.
"We keep meeting on these winter islands," you mutter, looking anywhere but at him.
"Oh," he says. His freckles dance as his smile shifts into a smirk. "You know I can keep you warm."
