Summary
“Oh. Jack. Thought you were my son.” Robby crossed the room and dropped into the armchair, legs sprawling open without care.
Jack swallowed. His gaze drifted, uninvited, down the man’s body. The shirt clinging to his chest and stomach, creasing at his waist, the leather belt catching the light. A hint of chest hair peeked from the open collar.
“How’s school?” Robby asked.
Jack looked away, avoiding his eyes. The movie played on, unnoticed.
“It’s alright. Going fine.”

Summary
Just to clarify things, the man who she shared half her DNA with was not a deadbeat. He was a sperm donor. Just some guy who ejaculated into a cup god knows how long ago for some extra cash.
Well, that was according to Uma’s Aunt Vic, whose constant repeating of that answer every time somebody got too nosy about Uma for their own good had practically imprinted on her very impressionable brain.
Now he was some guy Uma had now become very curious about.
-
Uma Mohan gets impatient and takes finding out the identity of her sperm donor into her own hands.

Summary
“You said this was about ‘mundane legal matters’?” Grace prompts.
“Yes.” The Attorney confirms, digging through his leather briefcase. “It took some time for things to get settled what with the wedding and the subsequent funerals and all, but the estate is finally ready for you to take the reins.”
“The estate? What estate? I abdicated the high seat.”
“Yes, well… like I said, these are entirely mundane legal proceedings. This has nothing to do with Mr. Le Bail or the High Council.” He hands Grace a packet of paper, waiting for her to scan over it before continuing. “Even in the absence of Mr. Le Bail’s favor, the Danforth family fortune is considerably immense, especially for a woman of your…” The Attorney trails off, eyeing Grace and Faith’s depressing poor people apartment. “Economic circumstances.”
“Wait,” Grace sputters, flipping through the paperwork. “I don’t get it. Why would I inherent the Danforth family fortune?”
“Well, you are the last remaining Danforth.” The attorney explains simply. As though it’s so simple.
