Summary
Nathaniel Wesninski never learned how to run.
When Mary fled the Butcher of Baltimore, she took one son and left the other behind. Neil grew up changing names, crossing borders, and surviving one escape at a time. Nathaniel grew up in Evermore, where obedience was rewarded, failure was punished, and freedom was something that happened to other people.
Years later, the brothers meet for the first time.
So they decide to trade places.Neil disappears into the Nest wearing Nathaniel’s name. And Nathaniel stays trying to live as Neil.
For Neil, the plan is simple: get close enough to kill their father.
For Nathaniel, pretending to be Neil should have been the easy part. Instead, he finds himself trapped by one of the hardest tasks he was ever assigned to.
Some prisons are built with walls.
Others follow you long after you’ve escaped.
