He hadn’t been misreading it. Something had shifted this time. Maybe it was divine timing, but he had a feeling they were standing on a ledge they wouldn’t come back from if they jumped it together.
“To ruin the friendship,” Kit breathed.
It had come out so quietly that Joe almost wondered if he’d hallucinated it. But then he tugged Kit’s hips flush against his, and their noses brushed. They were already on the other side of the line Joe feared crossing.
