Summary
It is the nature of a phoenix to die, perhaps that is why Jinshi was as he was, the stars had deemed it his imperial symbol when he was still a child.
Yue was dead, he had died when he was no longer deemed a child and such privileges no longer permitted to those close to him. Zuigetsu was dead, a name already taboo that had hardly even attached itself to him and he had never been much of the prince the name demanded. Zui had died, it was a much nicer death than the others, on a night he leant against a door and heard an admission from the woman he loved. Jinshi was always destine to die, he had thought he’d be fine with that, it was just a mask after all, and now hardly even whispered by those he trusted with more than his life.
He would always return to being the Moon Prince, and he was so untouchable he did not have a name.
But it was also in the nature of a phoenix to burn.
