Summary
Months before the android revolution comes to a tipping point, an intimacy model is delivered to Hank Anderson's house. Hank doesn't remember placing the order while he was drunk, but after he reluctantly activates the android, Connor slowly puts Hank's home and his life back together. He makes everything better.
But the deviancy crisis is growing, and the android revolution along with it. Hank doesn't know how to protect Connor from what's happening in the world around them, but Connor doesn't know how to protect him, either.

Summary
Looking at statistics only, Gavin Reed and Nines made an excellent team: without a single case unsolved since they've started working together three months ago, everything appeared great. But it only scratched the very surface of their relationship.
Looking at their dynamics, it became obvious how much room for growth both still had: getting along with the robocop Gavin was crushing on while feeling unable to stop the asshole-front constantly proved to be a serious issue. And Nines acting as the punching bag of said asshole didn't help. Turned out that expressing emotions properly was pretty damn difficult.

It was easier somehow, in Tokyo, to figure out what the adults around him wanted from him. Maybe because he was just one in a crowd; maybe because they didn’t have time to waste on disapproval. A back-alley doctor, a washed up politician, a down-on-her-luck journalist; they were all using him, but at least they were up-front about it. The trick was to leverage that into something he could use in return.
