Summary
A child with nowhere to go escapes the Underground at great effort, greater cost, and several missteps. Wandering the Surface, alone but for the undead voice in their head, they determine that the ending they have reached is not the one they want, and set out to find a better one. Rather than trust the advice of Flowey, they instead place their faith in the king’s dying words and seek the truth on the Surface. Somewhere in the world, there has to be a way to free monsterkind, and they’ll find it or die trying— And dying hasn’t stopped them yet.

When Dess threw the keys through their window they picked them up and let the sharp edge bite into their fingers. She entered, cocky and proud, already flipping to a pre-written page of her notebook: Want to get out of this fucking town?
“How long?” Their voice croaked.
She shrugged, flipped to the next page, where she’d already written, ‘til I come up with a better idea.
They stood. Slipped their phone into their pocket, picked a random assortment of clothing off their floor, and placed their hand into hers. She fizzed against them. Some sort of excitement. It was a sound they’d never heard from her before.
When she led them out the window they didn’t even think to look back.

Years pass. People grow. The world moves on without you. The Angel grew content with that for a while. It still hurt whenever they thought of the world that had long banished them, but something new pulled them out of the depths. Now, the Angel walks amongst friends who swear that they will not be banished. Kris, Susie, and Ralsei mean everything to them. Maybe this time, their banishment doesn't have to be as set in stone as they thought.
The Roaring comes. The light falters. Everyone falls.
A desperate connection is established in an attempt to save what remains of the Angel. If they fall, all hope will be lost. The world that banished the Angel long ago has forgotten them, but they have not forgotten it. This connection will have to be enough. Even if the rules have changed irrevocably, the Angel's one goal remains the same: Find them.

Summary
Ralsei wakes up for the first time in a world where things have shifted irrevocably. Words have already been said that can no longer be taken back. Actions have been taken that made everyone's hope for nothing. Echoes of memories haunt around every corner. The rules of this world have been twisted and mangled. Ralsei knows he should not be waking up in the Light World, and yet every time he does, he hopes that he will awaken back in that empty room in the darkness.
Something is missing, and without it, Ralsei refuses to believe that the world will keep moving forward. After all, he knows of the Angel's ability now. All he has to do is wait it out, and then things will go back to normal. Time begins to drag on, and Ralsei starts remembering everything that led to this day. His chest aches, but surely this cannot go on for much longer, right?

Summary
The Angel always knew that this day would come. Banishment has always been an inevitability, so there is no reason to feel bad about it happening now. After a harrowing battle against the Knight, the Angel realizes that they are unwanted within this story. They have already been taught many times that at some point, it is time to let go of a world. This is how it must be. If Kris does not want them, then it must be time. After all, if their vessel does not want them, isn't the only winning move not to play?
With the Angel disconnected, Kris and Susie descend into a Dark World without knowing what fate has just befallen the world. The light that shines the way is gone, and not a single person knows why. The world moves on anyway while Kris, Susie, and Ralsei are all caught in the aftermath of the Angel's swift decision. Even with the light no longer shining brightly, maybe something can be salvaged from the dark.
