Yelan first heard of the gods when she was six. They told her numerous stories, all more different than the other, about gods powerful enough to dry entire oceans and grow mountains out of their hands, about beings mighty enough to single-handedly build homes out of deserts and deserts out of hearts. They care and they love like no human being could ever dream to care or to love – and all Yelan thought about was how her father always sang her a lullaby before she went to sleep.
Or perhaps, a god can only truly love when he's human enough.
