Summary
She was given the chance to change her future. The power to fix the things she had broken unintentionally. To repair the bonds she had lost within her family and learn how to love them completely and without any strings or conditions attached.
Granted with a vision of what could be, she would handle this with maturity and wisdom. Devise a plan for each child she failed and make sure they each know that they are loved and that she is proud of them.
(This is a sequel, tou can read it if you want...but I recommend reading When the Bell Tolls One first)

Bookmarker's Notes
A good start to a fix-it fic with some nice solutions to the problems in the original work and some funny new misunderstandings and conflicts. Too bad it seems abandoned at 10 chapters.
A slight flaw is that Maribel and Isabella’s journey through Bruno’s room, though different from canon, is not different enough to stay interesting – especially when the prequel already described that scene. I think summarizing the similar parts would have been better
I read this on 2026-06-10, the day after reading the previous story in the series.

Bookmarker's Notes
I read all 11 stories on 2026-06-08.
Some are not that interesting on their own, but some off the stories show weird, interesting, and often relatable aspects of characters’ personalities, particularly Bruno’s.

Summary
Pepa wishes that her father never made his sacrifice. She wishes that Pedro had been willing to run and hide like the rest of the men rather than face the raiders alone. She wishes she could have grown up with a father instead of with a gift and a magic house. Then one night; Pepa’s wish comes true. And soon after she wishes it hadn’t…

Bookmarker's Notes
Diego is a good antagonist. The story shows the difficulties of an abusive relationship well.
However, it feels a bit unreal that Pepa, someone who has no memory of a previous relationship with Diego, would be so initially hesitant to leave him after his abuse. In that aspect, it seemed like forcing the character into a different story.
The plot finding two different ways to ask whether it's better to have a cowardly father or a brave dead one was nice. The story doesn't completely answer it, but that's fine. It's a bit of a shame that the story doesn't acknowledge the role of brave sacrifices in game theory – that someone's father had to fight for everyone to survive.
The ending did a good job addressing loose ends, but the very end felt a bit rushed, and the final message seemed to encourage magic supremacy rather than the intended encouragement of self-confidence.
Read on 2026-06-07 (the day after I watched the movie).

Summary
It had been so long since he had been in here. For years already, he had fully believed that he would never see the room again. Standing here now, letting his gaze roam around, he was surprised to find disappointment settling heavily in his chest. He’d managed to get inside. Already, he felt trapped within the tall walls. Defeated, somehow, like the room had managed to pull him back into its grip and never planned to let go.
---
Mirabel finds Bruno standing outside the door to his room and learns that he hasn't dared to enter since the magic returned. She never expected that following him inside would lead to new revelations about her tío, his powers and his past.

Bookmarker's Notes
It has a good theory for why Bruno’s room is so tall: to discourage villagers from visiting him in his room to ask for visions.
The actual plot is pretty predictable, though. It foreshadows something exciting but only the obvious thing happens

Bookmarker's Notes
The action is fun and varied. The characterization of Sonic and his friends is good and seems to extend the development of Sonic Frontiers, though I’m not familiar with all of the story of Sonic Frontiers, so I can’t say it all matches. The characterization of Metal Sonic was also good.
The characterization of Eggman is pretty true, but I found him so campy in the beginning that I had trouble taking the story seriously. Canon Eggman is campy too, so it’s not an objectively bad choice, but it’s not my preferred style. The AIs that act so much like slow-thinking, emotional people (like in canon) also took me out of the story. That includes the rogue base’s security system, which multiple times left the protagonists alone for a bit, and only after some minutes decided to attack them in a new way.
But overall it’s a very good Sonic story. It’s just that the Sonic canon is a difficult base to make great stories with.
