Shoko does not walk around a point; she barrels towards it and leaves Satoru to pick up its pieces. But not for this. Satoru’s hands are red enough already, let him leave this where it lies.
His voice gives, cracking in two when he finally gathers the strength to whisper, “it might.”
“It didn't with Suguru.” Mentioning Suguru is taboo, like fucking in the pews of a church before marriage, semen running down the bride’s legs before she’s made a wife.
“He was different,” he tries.
Shoko turns around, pinning him under brown eyes that have no give. “Why? Because his choices were his own and he still picked the wrong ones?” She leans back against the counter. “Or because you were in love with him?”
Satoru imagined an eternity for them stretched out like the horizon. He never saw the end until it greeted him with a hole in its chest and at least curse me a little at the end on its lips.
“The love is different,” Shoko says, “but the pain will be the same.”
In all the worst ways, Yuji is just like Suguru.

Two hours later, the whistle of rocket-propelled elytra warn him of incoming company. Grian doesn't bother fleeing; he knows Scar, and Scar knows him, and with this last, missing puzzle piece finally slotting into place between them, he's under no illusions that staying hidden for long is feasible. Grian's eyes skitter to a crack on the far wall as clumsy footsteps scatter the snow outside, scrabbling for balance before the muted click of a cane joins them. Footsteps; another, louder click— the door's latch gives way, and a brief, blinding wave of light crashes over Grian's face, obscuring everything but the outline of a painfully familiar silhouette.
Grian has to look away. The door shuts, and for a small moment, neither of them so much as breathe.
Then Scar's sighs— one great, resigned gust. "Grian...."
He says nothing else. He doesn't have to.

An all lowercase email? Really? That’s how Tim’s… propositioning Kon? Through their official Titans work emails? Kon doesn’t buy it. He can’t for his own sanity, especially considering the particularly unhinged subject line that he will… not be counting as a genuine question.
Oh, but the answer is yes. Obviously.
Or: in Send to All by cairosene, an email entirely intended to die in Tim’s drafts is sent to Kon. This is how that pans out, off the screens.
