She stares at him, dumbfounded. Not for the madness, because that’s a given. Nor the lustrous desire in his eyes. She’s always seen it there, clear as day. But for the sheer, plain truth spilling from his mouth, unhidden and unrepentant. They play games, and they dance, and they spin away and come back again. Never, under any circumstances, do they tell the truth. There’s a dangerous simplicity to it; should either of them take off the mask, they risk seeing what hasn’t changed. The love, kernelized and buried deep, but nevertheless there.

Summary
Simon’s been having dreams again. Maybe dreams is inaccurate. Maybe the better word is nightmares. Whatever the case, they’re the sort of dreams he hasn’t had in years now—the sort that should have been left behind on Eden, or destroyed alongside Filament. He dreams the sort of dreams that haven’t been seen since long before the Blood Ocean gave him a new sort of nightmare.
The COI isn’t satisfied with “plain old insomnia” as an excuse to why he falls asleep on the job and nearly dies in the process. Unfortunately, before Simon can find a better lie, he’s saddled with a disgraced former captain to wheedle the truth out of him—the same captain he spent a month in a hospital bed next to, recovering from AT-5. The Doctor. That’s it. She’s just the Doctor, and that will never change.
The thing is, she wants to do better. She can do better, she knows she can do better.
But unfortunately for the Doctor, the universe seems determined to prove her wrong.

Catra clenches her fists. She won’t let it happen. She won’t endanger their future. “We can’t change anything. We’ll just have to wait, and do everything the same way we did before.”
Adora grabs Catra’s shoulders. Her grip is so tight, it’s nearly painful. “But do you realize what that means for us? Playing along. Letting things go the exact same way as before–”
Catra’s expression darkens. “I know,” she says, struggling to keep her voice from trembling. “You’ll have to leave. We’ll have to be enemies again.”

Years after defeating Horde Prime, Catra and Adora inexplicably wake up in the past—on the day that Adora first found the sword. Summary
Catra lets her eyes wander; in her dreams, the girl always looked like she had emerged from the ocean, white silk around her limbs, flowing with the soft breeze that it was always present. Up until the last minute, she looked almost free. But now— the dark golden fabric pools around her feet, dragging as she moves slightly.
She considers. “You just— you don’t look real.”
Catra thinks that she might’ve seen the girl’s eye soften for a millisecond, but her mouth twists.
“It’s better for you if I’m not.”-
Catra believes the eerie tales of Bright Moon as much as she believes that the girl with golden hands and burning touches that haunts her dreams is real. But Adora stumbles in her life against all odds and breaks the ground under her feet.
