Summary
“Leorio,” a voice behind him at the entrance of the playground startled Leorio out of his thoughts. He turned, and his heart lurched. Kurapika looked mostly how Leorio remembered: worn black jeans, band t-shirt, his father’s old blue and red windbreaker, one red earring dangling from his ear. His hair was a bit longer– long enough that Kurapika had pulled half of it up into a ponytail. He obviously looked a bit older, but in a way that suited him. He was hotter than Leorio remembered, and that was saying something as Leorio had been hopelessly infatuated with his best friend for as long as he could remember.
“Hey,” Leorio said, voice cracking just a bit. Even under the weak flickering streetlights Leorio could see Kurapika quirk an eyebrow at him. “It’s— uh— it’s been a while.”
“Don’t be weird,” Kurapika muttered.
---
Two times Leorio and Kurapika hung out in an empty playground at 2 a.m. Once right before Leorio left for college, and again when Leorio came back home between undergrad and starting med school.Bookmarked by rioleo

Summary
“Melody, good evening,” he greeted. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Good evening!” Melody replied cheerfully. “I received a very interesting call today, and I wanted to get your opinion on it.”
“Oh?” Kurapika asked. He reached for his wine and sipped. “Is this a work call, or a bitch session?” He would not put the wine down for anything short of a house fire, though, and he sipped his drink again as if to prove his point to some sort of invisible audience.
Melody laughed. “That depends on how this conversation goes. But before we go any further: what do you think of weddings?”

Summary
Kurapika didn’t expect his body to be able to create life, much less that it would happen right now. Leorio tries to hold him up, even while he’s also learning not to fall apart. Between medical appointments, shared fears, and silent tenderness, the pregnancy makes its way. In a house full of voices, love grows without asking for permission, and with each passing day, what once seemed so fragile becomes stronger.

Summary
Next to him… his hand was holding the boy standing right next to him, probably about three times shorter. A puffy jacket on him and wild, dark hair.
They made eye contact.
He nodded at Kurapika and led the younger boy to him. Kurapika had forgotten he’d been speaking regularly with parents for several years now and suddenly he’s forgotten every single rule in the book of proper speaking etiquette.
“Hi!” The man spoke, “Shit I hope this is the right class. Uh, you’re Mr. Kurta, right?”
Kurapika nodded slowly, “yes, yes I am.” so this is the infamous alleged hot lawyer slash doctor that his colleagues won’t shut the fuck up about. He looked down at Gon, blinking up at Kurapika with wide eyes. “And you must be Gon?”
(or, the loosely Gokusen-inspired AU where the cast are mainly teachers. Kurapika is in charge of a class of rowdy kindergarteners coming from various different backgrounds, and he develops a strong bond with this particular class and realizes the true meaning of teaching in the course of a school year, and maybe even falls in love.)
