    Summary

Samira Mohan was not standing in the Hub by 7:15. Instead, by 7:45 Jack had left her three missed calls and two voicemails. Normally that sort of behavior would label him as an overbearing boss, but it was January and the city was vicious and cold and the roads were slick and Samira was late for work and Jack–

Well, Jack Abbot was many things but he was most definitely not a hopeless romantic. Any sentimentality on the idea surrounding love and soulmates had been lost on him when his wife died ten years ago. When Jane died, so did the part of him that believed in love after loss. After all, he had seen people remarry. Had known that the idea of such a thing was possible and genuine and–

And Jack Abbot was convinced he would never love again.

    OR

Samira Mohan is late for work. She's never late. Jack Abbot is aware of this and spends his shift responding to a massive pileup MCI while trying to not spiral about Samira's sudden radio silence. But then the paramedics bring in a patient and Jack's world stops spinning.

Rewriting The Mistake so that Grace actually makes Logan beg for forgiveness rather than almost immediately starting to like him. A mix of the plot and the book.

(also the girls aren’t all going to be tiny compared to the massive guys because I hate that trope)

    Summary

Grace Ivers is one bad day away from completely falling apart when her car starts making a horrible grinding sound just outside of campus. The only garage still open belongs to a family-owned shop that happens to include John Logan, a hockey star who’d rather spend his nights under the hood of a car than being treated like campus royalty.

What starts as a simple repair turns into late-night diner runs, coffee deliveries to the garage, and a growing attachment neither of them expects. Logan likes that Grace talks too much when she’s nervous. Grace likes that Logan becomes softer when nobody’s watching.

But as pressure mounts with Logan's hockey career and real life starts pulling at them from opposite directions, Grace begins to wonder if she’s just a temporary stop in Logan’s fast-moving future.

And Logan realizes far too late that somewhere between oil stains and midnight drives, Grace became the closest thing he’s ever had to home.

    Summary

John Logan's crush on Hannah Wells doesn't seem to budge until he starts working on a term-long assignment with Grace Ivers. He thought Hannah would always be his forbidden secret until Grace opened him up to a new way of being. He's never met anyone like her but will he risk their friendship for romance?

    OR

I hated The Mistake so much, I decided to rewrite it so that Logan was not a horny creep and Grace not a naive summer child. These characters deserved so much more complexity than the book awarded them, so here I am writing a better story out of sheer spite. Everything in the universe is the same, but the story is more inspired by the show than the book (cause the book was ass!)

“How bad’s the pain?” he asked, leaning over the back of the couch, placing the back of his fingers against her forehead as a reflex more than to actually check her temperature.

“I feel like my uterus is a pumpkin and someone is scraping the guts out before they carve into it.”

“You have such a way with words, Samira,” Jack drawled, “but I was thinking more on a scale of one to ten?”

a.k.a. Dr. Samira Mohan keeps a one-line-a-day journal to track her menstrual cycle.
