He spends basically the first entire week at Hammerhead in bed. Cindy just gives him the run down caravan at first, but it’s full of memories he wants to think of fondly instead of as the depressed lump of a human he’s become. After the first night, and the nightmares, she clears out the back room of the shop again and he moves right back in to where he spent the bulk of the night. It’s a bit different, this time, because there aren’t any windows, but there should be sunlight. Or at least there would be, if his sleep schedule made any sense and he was ever really awake during the day. He feels like a cryptid, emerging from the back of the shop at weird hours of the night to take a piss and raid the fridge.

Maybe the leading theory is correct, and the Crystal has something to do with the marks. Why the gods chose to print first thoughts on people’s skin is beyond his understanding. It would make more sense to give a name, or some indication of who the person is, rather than an often vague and confusing statement. Why the marks bloom into something else when touched by the person in question is even more baffling.

He paused, considering Felix, and he felt ice enclose his heart, no, no, no, but Sylvain continued, “you don’t usually pull your punches, anyway. It’s like—what, you got a secret crush on someone or something?”
“Yes, I do,” Felix said, and seriously considered running until he hit Imperial territory and got murdered for his troubles.
They stared at each other, there in the silence of the training grounds. Distantly, he heard the last bell for dinner.
Felix gets hit by a truth spell and reveals that he has a secret crush. Sylvain tries to guess who it is.

Prompto went online on his phone, just once, while Ignis was making their dinner, trying to see if there was any news.
It was a massive mistake, of course, because the one thing that everyone has up is footage of a disheveled Noctis leaving the mall with Gladio and a Crownsguard escort. His clothes were dark with blood, his eyes were trained on the ground, and his face was scarily blank. Not Ignis-scary-blank, which makes people scared for themselves, but Noctis-scary-blank where people are scared for him.
The headlines that aren’t focused on Noctis are focused on the total number of casualties, and Prompto just can’t wrap his head around it. Six dead, seventeen injured, and him. His name’s not out there in the media—no one’s is yet, but Prompto knows it’s just a matter of time, and that’s another thing he’s trying not to think about—but in between the shock and the outrage and the grief, people are already speculating about why only one of the dead people could be revived.
