Summary
“Do you play cards?” Nicky asked.
"Yes?”
“Good. There is a deck inside.”
“You want to play cards,” Nile said, in the toneless, disbelieving way that her mother had always hated.
Nicky smiled: “Booker called it the Nightmare Club."

Summary
It had been sixty-three days since the guns fell silent and the War to End All Wars came to an end. Sixty-three days since they had found Steve unhurt but unconscious in the middle of a field, surrounded by the scarce remnants of the plane.
He had not woken since nor shown any sign he might one day.

He had to be dead.
For a moment, Steve thought he must be in hell.

Summary
In his efforts to unite the League, Bruce Wayne offers Diana a job with Wayne Enterprises. It would be easier to coordinate if they were on the same continent.
Diana does not agree. There are many things Bruce has yet to discover about his new team mate.
Definitely not wonderbat.
Fix-it for Justice League. Reading the previous fic in the series helps but isn't necessary.

Summary
When the plane broke some sort of barrier and sputtered out, Steve thought he had his chance. The Germans had disappeared and even if they found the plane wreckage, his body could have easily drifted away on the ocean currents.
He tried to apparate.
It didn't work.
He tried again. Nothing.
God, he missed his broomstick.

Summary
Diana woke up before dawn, all at once, as she usually did. Steve stirred when she slipped out of bed but a kiss settled him again, left him dreaming.
Paris was never quiet but it was quieter that early in the morning. Diana liked to run then, farther and faster than any man could. Paris was the first city in man’s world that she had loved. She liked feeling the city wake around her as she ran through its streets.

Summary
For all that he seemed to be surrounded by people with them, the idea of soulmarks never enamoured Steve the way they did most people. He was as much a practical man as he was a dreamer and there were a lot of people in the world. Meeting your soulmate was rarer than people liked to think.

Summary
After the war, Etta explained to Diana that soulmates knew each other by touch and by the accompanying rush of the other person's emotions. For most people, that was it, but a very few continued to feel little rushes from the other person even if they weren't touching.
Diana didn't think about it much after she lost Steve.
It didn't occur to her to think about it, a hundred years later, when, in the middle of a Thursday afternoon, she felt an odd, pleasantly tired sense of expectation.
Across town, a man stepped off the train at Guard du Nord. He hoisted his bag more securely against his shoulder and smiled. London had been interesting but he felt like he had waited his whole life to get to Paris.

Summary
It always began the same.
She was walking up a hill. The sunshine was beating down on her back and she could see the bright ocean of Themyscira to her side. She got to the top and...
Steve was there, whole and well. He turned to her and smiled.
It was the same. Always, every night, the same.

Summary
Everyone knew that you only truly saw colour when you met your soulmate. They went from muted – like everything was behind a grey film – to bright and vibrant.
That's the way his father had described it, anyway, when he talked about Steve’s mother.
No one talked about how colours could dull too, that trauma could leach them out of a person until you were left with nothing but a dull, dingy grey.

Summary
Enjolras had not set out to spy on his comrades. He had only meant to see that they did not require assistance — perhaps even Joly's aid — and have Courfeyrac's insinuations proved or disproved. The door was ajar; he could peer in easily from the shadows without being seen. Grantaire was seated, slumped in his chair, his head pressed against Combeferre's stomach, a new wine bottle between his feet. Combeferre had his hands in Grantaire's hair, cradling his head as if there had never been a more precious thing in all the world. Enjolras swallowed. He had his answer and he would have gone, heart both strangely heavy and light, except that Grantaire chose that moment to stir and looked up at Combeferre.
His eyes were black.

Summary
Combeferre never expected les amis to stay as close as they had been in college. The world, unfortunately, did not work that way. He knew that. They all knew that.
He had not expected them to fall apart so fast.
