“It’s fine.” JK’s rigid shoulders relax, and he lifts his elbows to rest on the window sill. “I figured you didn’t actually mean it like that. And for what it’s worth, I’d happily trade off any day. Hand this pregnancy to your mate and move on.” He snorts a derisive laugh in the back of his throat. “Wouldn’t that just make life easy?”
“Yeah,” Yoongi exhales hollowly. “Wouldn’t it?”

For a long time, most of his life, in fact, Min Yoongi had thought the hardest thing about loving Jeon Jungkook--other than the fact he was his best friend and didn't return his feelings--was watching Jungkook sleep with everyone else but him. It was hard loving someone who didn't know how to, nor want to, commit to anyone.
He was wrong.
The hardest thing was actually watching his best friend fall in love with someone else. He didn't resent Kim Taehyung for being that person and he was happy for his friends, he really was, but it still hurt. He promised himself he wouldn't let that hurt stop him from being a good friend. He promised to be a good, supportive hyung, and he never broke his promises. Mostly.

As the tears come harder, Jungkook feels Yoongi’s hands wrap around his arms, starting to calm Jungkook down. Jungkook hadn’t even realized that he was basically hyperventilating.
“Of course I’m scared that he doesn’t want me around, Yoongi-hyung,” Jungkook says, voice now a whisper. “He never has. No one ever has, not even here. So why would it be any different now?”
Yoongi’s hands run up and down Jungkook’s arms, soothing him. “Because you’re so worthy of being loved, Jungkook-ah,” he says. “You’re so worthy of being loved.”
OR: Jungkook loses his job, moves back to the mountain he grew up on, and learns a lot about what it means to be loved.

Because of work, Yoongi hardly spends time at home. He leaves early in the morning and arrives late at night, and spending time with his toddler has become mission impossible. In the past two years, Jimin has seen his husband and son grow distant. It didn’t use to be this way, but their now four-year-old pup has become very attached to Jimin and tends to avoid the alpha, and Yoongi has noticed this, too.
