Steve hates everything about the future -- but most of all he detests Tony, flashy and flirtatious, who embodies everything Steve hates about a world he never wanted to live in.

“Is that a baby?” Shen Yuan squawked before being hushed from every angle. A few of the men looked over their shoulders back towards the village and Shen Yuan abruptly understood the root of their concern.They didn’t want their wives to overhear.
‘Not good,’ Shen Yuan thought. They wouldn’t be worried about that if they weren’t planning to do something awful.
“It’s a fish,” one of the older, burlier men who acted as the de facto leader of the river folk said as he fixed Shen Yuan with a glare. “Just a fish.”
