Summary
Given these circumstances, Mike finds it a little weird that he’s got dark circles under his eyes and a select few red dots that are threatening to form into a full acne breakout on his chin. Upon this observation, Mike also notices that he kind of feels like shit too. There’s this dull grogginess all through his body, like he’s moving through cement. He can already tell that today is going to be one of his more irritable days that leaves his skin buzzing and unable to speak at the end of it. He hasn’t felt like this in a while, though, not since…
Nope, not possible, he reminds himself quickly, and gets to brushing his teeth before he changes his mind and gets back in bed.
Or;
Mike gets his period. He deals with it.

Summary
“So, I’ve been thinking," Mike throws his head back into the sofa’s head rest. “You know how I talk about girls all the time?”
The pencil in Will’s hand freezes for just a moment, something Mike wouldn’t have been able to tell at all if he wasn’t staring right at Will’s hands to avoid his gaze. “So?”
“Well, I’ve been thinking, right?”
Will looks up, but Mike isn’t looking back at him. He’s picking at a loose thread on the couch cushion. “What, about girls?”
“No,” Mike shakes his head, “about boys."
Will nearly chokes on his tongue. “You’ve been thinking about boys?”
or, mike conducts an uncomfortably elaborate semester-long personal inquiry project on how to be a better straight ally to his gay best friend. for educational reasons only. obviously

Summary
Mike laughs helplessly. What else can he do? “Okay, well, when you say it like that it sounds insane.”
“It is insane!” Will runs a hand through his hair, still visibly stunned. “Mike, we haven’t seen each other in twelve years and now you’re somebody’s father?!”
“Pretty much, yeah.”
Or, Twelve years after losing the boy he loved, single dad and bestselling author Mike Wheeler runs into Will Byers at his daughter’s library story hour and realizes some people never really leave your heart, no matter how much time passes.
Or or, Mike learns how to say I love you and mean it this time.

Summary
“Don’t you remember?” Lucas asked softly. “When we were kids? Like, sixth grade. We all said we’d be in each other’s weddings.” He chuckled. “And Mike called dibs on being my best man, and then you and Dustin started freaking out, because you were both gonna call dibs, so I said you could all do it. Remember? I need all my best men.”
Will puffed out his cheeks, running a hand through his hair. He already hadn’t lived up to that twice now. He’d missed Dustin’s wedding, he hadn’t even been invited to Mike’s (not that he’d expected to be.) This was his last shot.
And something about it seemed final. If he missed this, then that was it. He had no doubt they’d still try to reach out, but it wouldn’t be the same. He would’ve broken something he couldn’t fix.
He sighed.
“Okay.”
Ten years after the end of the world, Lucas and Max get married.
It's a mess.
