Remus barely noticed when James threw his feet in Peter’s lap or Peter hung shamelessly over Sirius’s shoulders when he was hungover, barely cared when they crowded him on the walk to Hogsmeade for warmth, an eight-legged mass of terrible hair and a single overextended scarf.
But right now, Sirius hovering like a shadow ahead of him, Remus noticed. And if he were completely honest with himself, he noticed Sirius every time.
Sirius inhaled like he could draw all of Remus up with it, take him back to the Potters in his lungs, and hugged him.
