Summary
General George Washington trusted the then Colonel Benedict Arnold when he first met him in 1775. Not to say he blindly trusted Arnold, no, trust is earned. Maybe it was because he fought in the French and Indian War like George, or maybe it was the way he knew how to command his men, and not lead them into massacre like George did in ‘54. George knew he could trust the man.

“I had told you that if you stepped out of line, I wouldn’t hesitate to take you in hand again, didn’t I?”
