“It’s okay, it’s not my only tux,” replied Scott with good humor, wiping himself down and hoping that would make the waiter feel better about their collision. Except that the crouched man paused, then glanced up, and Scott froze.
It was Kip.
Kip, kneeling in front of Scott, looking just as shocked as Scott felt. The moment their eyes locked, Scott’s stomach flipped over and his heart started to race, and he felt warmth work its way up his neck toward his cheeks. Not to mention, his mind decided to oh-so-helpfully present other ways Kip could be on his knees in front of Scott, and he really didn’t need that when he was wearing tailored pants.

Adachi has always been a little shy about touch. Not holding hands, perhaps, but every time Kurosawa has taken him in his arms, Adachi has stiffened. It’s made Kurosawa careful. He wants so badly for Adachi to be comfortable at every stage of their relationship, so he has been willing to put off other forms of physical affection until Adachi was ready. But that little brush of thumb brings back to his awareness all the things he still wants to do. He jerks his hand away, not wanting Adachi to see it all and be scared off again.
But Adachi reaches for his hand again. He shakes his head a little. “Kurosawa,” he says firmly. “It’s okay. I—I told you, I am okay with losing the magic.”
