It stains Argenti's hand—He lets it, presses his palm against Boothill's rough cheek, where the skin has been kissed red, and strokes the curve of bone beneath his eye as the weak ranger breathes against the skin of his wrist, shivering like a fawn under a fox's gaze. If he opened his mouth now and bared his teeth he could split Argenti's skin open, tear through his flesh like paper, make him bleed like it was nothing. Argenti knows that he won’t.
Because Boothill knows that this predatory gaze goes both ways.
